The yard star. A horse of a lifetime.

Words cannot express how special this horse is. My family brought him aged five from Robin Dumas, when I was 14 in early 2005, originally to do Pony Club eventing. A Minchinhampton Pony Club Camp later and we decided to give our first intro at Spire Park a crack; fast forward six years and he has grown into one of the best advanced cross country horses in the country, with fast clears at Withington, Chatsworth, Houghton CCI**, Weston Park CCI**, Hartpury CIC*** and Blenheim CCI***.

Following two advanced placings, in 2011 Henn picked up a frustrating injury that caused him to miss Bramham and a place at the Young Rider Europeans.

Henn returned to competition in 2013. Two double clears in Open Intermediate sections at Hambledon and Bicton set us up for a clear at Chatsworth CIC***.

We then headed to Bramham Under25CCI***. Here Henn performed the best test of his career to be in a competitive place. Unfortunately, after a storming xc round belying his lack of practise, the ground jury eliminated us for jumping the wrong side of a corner in the first water. Very frustrating as despite the run we were left without 4* qualification.

In the Autumn of 2013 we headed to Blenheim CCI***, where Hennessy completed this prestigious class for the second time.

Henn had a busy and successful 2014. He completed 3 CIC***s clear across country – Chatsworth, Barbury and Blair Castle. Additional we completed two advanced classes and a were placed in the OI at Salperton Park.

2015 would be our eleventh season together, with Henn now 16. I will listen to him carefully but as long as he continues to come out the start box full of enthusiasm I hope to continue competing him.
